Report “Mapping Sustainable and Circular Pathways: A Comprehensive Study of the Textile Industry for the CoDesign of an Innovative Academic Course”

An analysis of the current state of the textile industry in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Uganda, covering trends, challenges, sustainability practices, and best practices globally. Insights from case studies that will inform the design of an innovative academic course.

New Course in “Sustainable and Circular Business Models in the Textile Industry”

The development of a new blended-learning course that integrates sustainability and circular economy principles into the textile industry, aligned with existing degree programs at African HEIs.
Teaching materials and resources will be provided to support the course, which will be offered as a semester-long course.

Roadmaps on “Collaboration Schemes with the Industry Stakeholders”

Customized roadmaps for each African HEI, providing a strategic framework for collaboration with industry stakeholders.
These roadmaps will include mapping institutional capabilities, structuring collaboration schemes, and integrating academic goals with industry needs.

Collaboration Offices

A framework for setting up and enhancing Collaboration Offices at African HEIs, including objectives, processes, roles, and sustainability measures for long-term success.

Framework for Joint Course Development

A comprehensive framework for the collaborative design and development of joint courses between Sub-Saharan African universities, focusing on curriculum design, quality assurance, and accreditation.
